Bell Mountain Wilderness

Bell Mountain Wilderness is a 9,183-acre federally protected Wilderness Area in Missouri, managed by the Forest Service. It offers primitive backcountry hiking and backpacking in a non-motorized setting where solitude and backcountry immersion are the draw. Like all federally designated Wilderness Areas, it operates under strict rules: no roads, no motors, no mechanized travel of any kind. Visitors must practice Leave No Trace principles and come prepared for self-sufficient travel. Access is on foot or by non-motorized means only. Spring through fall are the practical seasons for visiting; winter conditions can make travel difficult.
