Aubrey Peak Wilderness Area

Aubrey Peak Wilderness Area is a 14,847-acre federally protected wilderness in Arizona managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is primitive backcountry—no roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted. Visitors come here to hike and backpack in genuine solitude, moving through landscape on foot alone.

The wilderness operates under strict Leave No Trace principles. You'll encounter no maintained trails, facilities, or infrastructure; this is untracked country where self-sufficiency and route-finding skills matter. Access is limited to non-motorized entry points, and the designation means you're responsible for your own navigation, water, and camp ethics. Spring and fall typically offer the best conditions for travel through the area.
