While there are countless breathtaking views of the Teton Range throughout the park, Oxbow Bend is one of the most iconic. A channel of the Snake River "bends" towards the turnout with the water often reflecting the towering Mount Moran in the background. Year-round, this location provides stunning views of scenery AND wildlife. Trumpeter swans, otters, beavers, and bears are some of the animals occasionally seen from this turnout. What did you love most about the view? Name Origin Geologically speaking, an oxbow forms when a meander channel is cut off from the main stream forming a pond.
