Classic Daysails

Classic Daysails operates private three-hour sailing charters aboard Aura, a 1948 wooden sloop, departing from Deer Harbor on Orcas Island. The typical route sails through the Wasp Islands, San Juan Channel, around Jones Island, through Wasp Passage, and into West Sound—waters described as calm and protected. Guests often see seals, porpoises, ospreys, and eagles. Captain Ward Fay, who has skippered professionally since 2001, includes non-certified sailing instruction and invites passengers to steer and handle ropes, or simply relax and enjoy the scenery. The boat accommodates up to six passengers of any age. Trips run May through October, with guests welcome to bring their own food and beverages.
