Camp Barnard is a 251-acre facility in Sooke, Vancouver Island, available year-round for youth and adult organizations to deliver outdoor programs. The camp provides kitchens and cabins supporting wilderness camping for overnight or day use. Originally established in 1945 when Senator Barnard gifted land and a hunting lodge to Victoria Council of Scouts Canada, the property includes second-growth forest and the 17-acre Young Lake. Camp Barnard has operated for more than 75 years as a venue for groups to learn outdoor skills and connect with nature in a safe yet challenging environment.
