About Torras

Torras is a ghost town that once occupied the far northeastern corner of Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana. The settlement grew up along both sides of the Texas & Pacific Railroad at its meeting point with Lower Old River, a location defined by major waterways on either side — the Mississippi River just to the east and the confluence of the Red and Atchafalaya Rivers just to the west.

The facts available about Torras are sparse, and visitors should expect little in the way of visible remains. The surrounding landscape of rivers and lowlands is the main draw for those who make the trip out.
