Sage

Sage is a ghost town tucked into the far southwestern corner of Lincoln County, Wyoming, sitting near the point where Wyoming meets Utah. No industry is documented in the historical record here — it stands today simply as a former community along a well-traveled corridor.

For anyone passing through, the surrounding road network gives a sense of Sage's old role as a waypoint. US Route 30 connects northward about 19 miles to Cokeville and eastward roughly 25 miles to Kemmerer. Wyoming Highway 89 branches west, reaching the Utah state line within 4 miles and continuing to Sage Creek Junction, Utah, about 5 miles beyond that. The Union Pacific Railroad also runs through, oriented toward Rock Springs to the east and Pocatello, Idaho, to the west.

Visitors should come with modest expectations — this is a quiet, largely undeveloped site best suited to those curious about Wyoming's small settlement history. Scenic driving and photography are the realistic draws, and the open road access makes a brief stop straightforward in the warmer months.
