About Piedmont

Piedmont is a ghost town in Uinta County, Wyoming, with roots in the railroad era. The town once sustained itself around railroad and timber activity, drawing enough residents to function as a small but active community.

Its decline came when Union Pacific rerouted its line, bypassing Piedmont entirely. Without that connection, the town lost its reason for existing and gradually emptied out.

Visitors today find a historic remnant settlement on the Wyoming landscape. It suits those drawn to quiet exploration, photography, and the atmosphere of a place that time has largely reclaimed.
