About Paradise

Paradise is a ghost town in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, sitting roughly 10.5 miles east-northeast of Greenville. Its roots trace back to its earliest days as Stom's Landing, a trading post along the Green River, which itself flows into the Ohio River.

The settlement's origins as a riverside trading hub gave it early economic purpose, but like many small Kentucky river towns it did not survive into the present as a living community. Visitors today are essentially coming to a vanished place — the name persists on maps, but on the ground there is little to greet you beyond the landscape itself.

For those drawn to forgotten American places, the Green River setting provides the real draw. Come prepared for a quiet, self-directed visit with no formal infrastructure or signage. Spring and fall offer the most comfortable conditions along this part of Kentucky; summer heat and humidity are manageable but worth planning around.
