Nohly

Nohly is an unincorporated ghost town in Richland County, Montana, situated along the Missouri River and a BNSF Railway line that was originally part of the Great Northern Railway network.

The most notable feature associated with Nohly is a vertical lift bridge crossing the Missouri River. Known variously as the Snowden Bridge, the Nohly Bridge, and the Great Northern Railroad Bridge, the structure was built in 1913 for the Great Northern Railway, with additional construction carried out in 1925. The Library of Congress holds a photographic collection documenting the bridge, suggesting it has drawn some historical and architectural interest over the years.

Visitors today will find a quiet, remote riverside setting with the historic bridge as the primary point of interest. Access follows the road and rail corridor through this sparsely populated corner of Montana. Summer and early fall offer the most practical conditions for a visit.
