About Leipzig
Leipzig is a ghost town in Grant County, North Dakota, that owes its abandonment to a single turning point: when the Northern Pacific Railroad was routed elsewhere in 1910, the community could not survive and was left behind.
Visitors today will find little more than open land and the quiet atmosphere common to forgotten settlements on the northern plains. No documented structures or landmarks are on record here, so the experience is one of contemplation rather than exploration of preserved ruins.
