Hopewell

Hopewell is a ghost town tucked into the Tusas Mountains of Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, sitting just above Hopewell Lake and roughly half a mile south of U.S. Route 64. The community was named for rancher and promoter Willard S. Hopewell and maintained a U.S. Post Office from 1894 to 1906, offering a glimpse into its brief but active past.

Today it survives as a sparsely documented remnant. Visitors drawn to the area will find the scenic mountain setting and proximity to Hopewell Lake to be the main draws, with little in the way of documented standing structures or formal historic interpretation on site.
