About Federman

Federman is an abandoned former community in Monroe County, Michigan, that took shape in 1884 at the crossing of two railroad lines — the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railroad and the Toledo, Ann Arbor and Northern Michigan Railroad. That rail junction was its reason for being, and the settlement even supported a post office for a stretch between 1899 and 1906 before declining into obscurity.

Today nothing remains of an active community. Visitors drawn to ghost-town exploration will find little infrastructure on the ground, making this a destination suited mainly to history enthusiasts and photographers interested in documenting forgotten corners of Michigan.
