About Dilworth

Dilworth is a ghost town in Kay County, Oklahoma, born from the oil boom that swept the region in the early twentieth century. Like many communities that sprang up quickly around the petroleum industry, it faded once the boom subsided and today exists in name only as a designated Populated Place.

The site sits roughly ten and a half miles northwest of Newkirk, the Kay County seat, though present-day roads stretch that journey to about fourteen miles. Visitors should expect little in the way of visible remains — this is a place for those curious about Oklahoma's oil-boom history rather than those seeking developed attractions or infrastructure.
