About Dewright

Dewright is a ghost town in Seminole County, Oklahoma, roughly seven miles southeast of Maud. It emerged as a small rural settlement in the early 1930s, a period when agriculture and oil activity shaped much of the surrounding region before the community faded away.

Visitors today will find little more than open countryside, as very few if any structural remains survive from the original settlement. The appeal is largely historical curiosity and the quiet rural landscape rather than any developed site or marked attraction.
