About Delamar

Delamar is a ghost town in Lincoln County, Nevada, situated along the east side of the Delamar Valley. It earned the grim nickname The Widowmaker during its most productive years, roughly 1895 to 1900, when gold operations here generated an estimated $13.5 million — a remarkable output for a relatively brief period.

Visitors today find the remnants of a once-busy settlement set against the spare Nevada landscape. The site rewards those interested in history, photography, and the quiet atmosphere that ghost towns carry. Access to remote Nevada locations like this typically requires a high-clearance vehicle, and conditions on unpaved roads can vary significantly by season.

Spring and fall tend to offer the most comfortable temperatures for exploration. Summer heat in this part of Nevada can be intense, and winter months bring the possibility of snow and impassable road conditions, so planning around those extremes is worthwhile.
