About Clifton
Clifton is a ghost town and unincorporated community sitting on the south bank of the Columbia River in Clatsop County, Oregon. It occupies a spot along Clifton Channel, with Tenasillahe Island visible across the water, and lies roughly nine miles northwest of Westport, north of U.S. Route 30.
The facts on record are sparse, leaving little documented about the settlement's origins or the industry that once sustained it. Visitors today come primarily for the river setting and the quiet atmosphere of a place that time has largely passed by.
