Cedar

Cedar is a ghost town in Mohave County, Arizona, built on the eastern slope of the Hualapai Mountains roughly sixty miles southeast of Kingman. Gold, silver, and copper mining drove its founding around 1875, and at its modest peak the settlement supported a general store, two saloons, a handful of homes, and a post office that operated from September 1895 until July 1911. By 1907 companies including the Cedar Valley Gold & Silver Company and the Yucca Cyanide Mining & Milling Company were active in the area, though the town's life proved short.

Today Cedar is an isolated remnant with little infrastructure surviving. Visitors drawn to Arizona ghost towns will find a remote, quiet setting characteristic of old mining country. Access is rough and facilities are nonexistent, so come prepared with water, a reliable vehicle, and a good map.
