About Bryant

Bryant is an extinct community in Douglas County, Missouri, situated along Bryant Creek just north of where Mill Hollow flows into it. The Missouri Highway 5 bridge over Bryant Creek passes near this former settlement, giving the spot its clearest modern landmark.

About a mile downstream from the main townsite, an old store known as Midway once operated near what was the original Bryant Bridge along the old Highway 5 alignment. That earlier commercial node is now gone as well, leaving the broader Bryant area as a quiet creekside locality with little visible evidence of its past as a populated place.

Visitors today will find a rural roadside setting rather than any preserved structures or marked historical features. The appeal lies in the natural surroundings along Bryant Creek, which makes it of mild interest to those who enjoy exploring forgotten Missouri communities.
