Bradshaw City

Named for William D. Bradshaw, this Yavapai County ghost town traces its origins to 1863, when it took shape as a mining camp in what is now central Arizona. Operations continued for roughly two and a half decades before the camp fell quiet sometime in the late 1880s.

Today Bradshaw City is a destination for history-minded visitors drawn to the quiet atmosphere of a place that once hummed with activity. Expect sparse physical remains and an undeveloped setting — this is raw ghost-town exploration rather than an interpreted historic site.

Access to remote Yavapai County ghost towns typically demands a high-clearance vehicle and some navigational preparation. Spring and fall offer the most comfortable conditions; summer heat in this part of Arizona can be intense, and winter roads may become impassable after storms.
