Beal

Beal is a ghost town in San Bernardino County, California, that began as a railroad station along the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad corridor connecting Needles, California and Topock, Arizona. The station was established in 1889 and sat roughly five miles south of Needles along that rail line, with Mellen located to its south.

Today Beal is a sparse and remote desert stop with little to greet visitors beyond its stark setting. Because the historical record is thin, anyone making the trip should go with modest expectations — this is a place of atmosphere and historical curiosity rather than preserved structures or interpretive sites.
